Helmet fit!!

For years I was guilty of not wearing a helmet. That all changed about 12 years back after a bad crash. I’d been doing about 30 around a corner and hit some gravel. The next thing I remember is a woman pulling me out of the intersection. I was bleeding everywhere, totaled my bike and broken my helmet into four pieces. I was lucky, very lucky! Last Sunday at the Seward Park bike event in Seattle I got to witness a couple accidents one where the man was wearing his helmet properly and though he’s missing some skin and probably damaged his ego a bit I could straighten his bike back into riding form and he was able to continue his Father’s Day. The second person wasn’t as lucky. She went down hard and her helmet didn’t help because it wasn’t on right. When she came to after the ambulance arrived she didn’t even remember that she had a nine year old daughter! She, her husband and their daughter are spending their Father’s Day at the hospital.
