SAFETY DANCE
We do this work for every tune-up. We clean the bike and inspect for wear or damage. Brakes receive minor adjustments. We lubricate the drivetrain and check derailleur limits for accuracy. We perform minor wheel truing, too. Finally, we torque check all fasteners. This is an opportunity to become familiar with your bike and allows us to identify any areas of concern.
SEATTLE SCRUBDOWN
Want your components to last longer? In addition to the full Safety Dance, we’ll degrease your drivetrain and eliminate the harsh road grime that sends chains and cassettes to an early grave. Your bike will run smoothly and quietly, and we’ll relube it with season-appropriate products. We will also clean your braking surfaces to slow down the wear on your rims or rotors.
DOUBLE SHOT TUNE
For our full-on Double Shot, we do everything we do for the Safety Dance and Seattle Scrubdown, before going deeper into the bike. Wheels come off and spokes are re-tensioned. The rim are brought into radial and lateral trueness, and the hubs are adjusted. Brake pads are resurfaced or replaced, and brake cables are lubricated, or hydraulic pistons are cleaned and reset. We’ll ensure brakes work flawlessly, don’t rub and are quiet. Derailleurs are lubed and adjusted, and we will check alignment of the vulnerable derailleur hanger. We’ll get the shifting dialed. Headset and bottom bracket are adjusted, all fasteners torqued and finally we’ll do a test ride. It’s no wonder this is our most popular service.
THE GAVIA Overhaul
This is our overhaul, a tribute to Andy Hampsten’s epic ride in the ’88 Giro d’Italia. This epic tune climbs above the Double Shot and covers installation of all new cables, housing, brake pads, drivetrain components, grips or bar tape, headset bearings, hub bearings and bottom bracket bearings. Also included are hydraulic brake bleeds, topping-off sealant in your tubeless tires and lubricating suspension pivots and seals.

Estimates are free in the shop. So is air! We want you to come by and say “hi” and see what’s new in the shop and the neighborhood, even if your bike is running fine. Every bike has different needs and these service packages might not cover everything or might cover too much, and maybe individual services would be better. Once we estimate the condition of your bike, we can make smart recommendations based on our findings. We want you to get the best possible value when you bring your bike to us and we will be transparent with costs associated with service work to be performed as well as communicate the benefits of those services.
We guarantee our work for three months. As you ride your bike and notice something might need adjustment, or there’s a strange noise, or if you just have questions, we want you to come by and follow-up with us. It’s part of the deal, and part of being your community bike shop.
